few days really caused the concern. cnn agreed to a request from an obama administration official not to go in to details about the message all because of its sensitivity. we know that this message was a critical factor leading to the shut-down and not the only factor. several u.s. officials said they have seen an increase of threats of yemen for weeks. there have been some major prison breaks in the region that was affected, leaving al qaeda members who were behind bars unaccounted for. regardless, this was an unprecedented move. we saw something we don't always see in washington -- agreement between democrats and republicans saying they think the administration did the right thing shutting down the 2 2 embassies and consulates. president obama is celebrating his birthday at camp david and now back in washington. the white house said he is briefed about the threat and the national security team met to discuss it. fredericka? >> emily, it is monday in some places where these embassies have been closed, so what do we know about what's happening next? will they remain closed or open

book "emily gets her gun but obama wants to take yours." so welcome to both of you. here's the first thing that jumped out at us. you look at this guy, chris christie, three hot button issues, span of a couple days. marijuana, guns, gay conversion therapy. emily, my first question is fou. what does that sound like to you? is this someone that wants to get this out of the way before campaign season? what do you make of it? >> he's jumping all over the board but there's no question that chris christie has his eyes on the white house. he was on friday or thursday of last week, at the rnc meeting in boston and gave a speech where most of the people there expected to not like him, because he has gone so far to the left and also has helped president obama get re-elected after hurricane sandy last year, but really won over the crowd saying here i am in a blue state using conservative principles and then oddly, although he did veto these gun control bills the next day, he then does this -- passes this bill on gay conversion therapy. so he's a little bit all over the book but absolutely no do

. the obama administration was severely criticized for not responding strongly to the threat. this time officials are using this phrase. they say they're acting out of an abundance of caution. here's something we do know that affects benghazi. basically there are roughly 1500 marines on ships in the red sea, 500 marines split between italy and spain. they are posted there full-time for the sole purpose of responding if there is an attack in the area. these are marines who could go in the event that these threats turned into actual attacks and be there quicker than they were able to be there at this time last year. >> emily, thanks so much in washington. >>> a travel alert coming out of this really could impact americans for the next month or so. now we go to nick valencia a at atlanta's hart field -- hartsfield-jackson airport. >> lines shouldn't be longer, no more delays because of this travel alert, though the state department does say we should not see any visible changes in security due to this travel warning. i spoke to passengers. we got some mixed reaction. while some were comple
